2005 Gibson Master Model Mandolin
(Serial No. D70350) Excellent condition, sunburst finish. Looking for the best mandolin Gibson makes? Lets see: Hand-built by one top luthier - red spruce top - maple back and sides - ebony fretboard and bridge - tone bar bracing - built with hide glue - Waverly tuners - yes, this is it. This is the classic Gibson scroll mandolin - long neck, f-holes, elevated fingerboard, heavily flamed maple back and sides, solid red spruce top, bound ebony fingerboard, and the classic logo and torch peghead inlay in pearl. No repairs or other issues noted. Its set up perfectly. Action is great - easy and low. This mandolin was owned by a pro picker and has opened up nicely, with a great chop and bark. Its not a case queen. It does show player wear, minor wear on the back of the neck, minor scroll wear from a strap, and very few of the usual nicks and dings of a mandolin used to make music. You could call it naturally distressed. The sound is why you want this mandolin. Signed by Danny Roberts and dated June 27, 2005. There's a reason Gibson Master Model F5 mandolins are considered the voice of bluegrass. Most pickers won't part with theirs - once you play this one you'll know why. Comes with a Price hardshell case.
