1920s Vega Style S Tu-ba-phone Banjolin
(Serial No. none) Excellent minus condition, all original. Vega Style S Tu-ba-phone mandolin banjo. This is a pretty cool instrument. A banjolin is sort of a cross between a banjo and a mandolin, and are played like a mandolin. These were very popular in the 1920-1930s, and these are popular now in Celtic music. Features a 10 inch head with a regular 8 string configuration, a maple neck with black center strip, extended ebony fingerboard with a 1 1/8 inch nut, Tu-ba-phone tone ring and bracket band, original tuning pegs with engraved covered tuners and tailpiece, and a 13-3/4 inch scale length. Has a 17 fret fingerboard with 12 frets clear of the pot, 28 tension hooks, and an integral arm rest. Dot fretboard inlay. Missing a chip out of the peghead. Solid and tight. Includes the somewhat beat up but still functional original hardshell case.
