1924 Gibson A2 Mandolin
(Serial No. 73042 FON 11836) Excellent condition. This mandolin has the pearl logo and inlay in the peghead, bound top, back, and fretboard, ebony fretboard, original ebony bridge, original tuners, tailpiece and pickguard. This is the same mandolin as the A2Z, however it has the double soundhole rosette rings and the label shows A2. This is a classic Loar era instrument with the sound that you expect from this period. Just set up by my luthier so it plays smoothly with excellent volume and tone. Shows the typical playing wear of almost 100 years, but there are no major repairs or issues. This is a great sounding mandolin - an excellent demonstration of why many pickers believe the snakeheads are the best oval hole mandolins ever made by Gibson. Comes with the original hardshell case.
