1923 Gibson A
(Serial # 74156 FON 11021) Excellent condition. Snakeheads are considered the best sounding of Gibson oval hole mandolins, as they ring out and punch well. Black top finish and a brownish back and sides. Original Gibson label inside. Tuners and tailpiece are original. Bridge has been changed out for a Cumberland Acoustics Loar replica. Missing the pickguard. Just set up by my luthier Jerry Ray. Frets are fine and neck set it good. Shows some playing wear as well as a few nicks and dings, but overall a nice solid mandolin. Shows some case wear on the side. Plays easy with the great round hole tone. Excellent for Celtic, old time and jazz. Comes with a hardshell case.
