1948 Martin 000-18 Guitar
(Serial No. 108119) Excellent minus condition. Nicely aged spruce top and mahogany back and sides. Martin is supposed to have used Andirondack spruce for the tops until the early 50's, but no one can really tell by looking at it. To be sure, you have put it under a microscope in a lab. The open back Kluson tuners are original. Rosewood peghead overlay with gold Martin script. Has that nice meaty 40s Martin C shaped neck profile with a standard 1 11/16 nut width. Weighs almost nothing - this guitar is light as a feather. The bridge has been reglued, there is the usual pickguard crack repair under the high e string, and a couple of short dryness side cracks have been professionally glued. No other repairs noted. It does have some minor scratches, nicks and dings and honest pickwear from 60 years of playing. Neck has probably been set at some time in the past as the action is low and comfortable. The frets are in good shape and the neck is straight. Has a nice big open woody sound with strong volume. Comes with a newer Martin hardshell case.
