1956 Martin D-18 Guitar
(Serial No. 151681) Structurally fine guitar with a little pick and playing wear. Nice old D18 with a Sitka spruce top, small maple bridge plate, Tortoise binding and pickguard, mahogany back and sides, and a rosewood fretboard with the original rosewood long saddle bridge. All finish and hardware are original. I think the neck has been reset as it has a nice tall saddle, the neck is straight, and the action is low and comfortable. Refretted with EVO frets, which were just dressed so they are fine. It has the loud, dry woody sound you only get from a 60+ year old mahogany guitar, with that signature Martin boom on the bottom end. Here is a link to a YouTube video of this instrument as played by Richie Dotson of www.acousticbox.com. Excellent condition. This is an excellent sounding D18 that will drive your music. Comes in an old probably original hard shell case in good condition.
