1959 Gibson J50 Adjustable Guitar

(FON No. S8281 1) Excellent repaired condition. Excellent playing and sounding guitar. Its not pretty and pristine but it has the sound and plays great. I love road warrior guitars; they were used a lot because they sound so good. Its loud and very responsive and open sounding. It really nails the slope shoulder Gibson midrangy dreadnaught sound. Excellent for backing up fiddle tunes or singers. Plays easy with a nice low action. Natural finish spruce top that has darkened to orange over the years, mahogany back and sides, Brazilian rosewood fretboard with dot inlays. Original adjustable bridge. I usually have these adjustable bridges changed to a fixed bridge, but this one sounds so good I decided not to mess with it. "If it ain't broke don't fix it". The Kluson tuners are originals and they work well. The frets are in excellent shape and the neck is straight. Lots of checking on the top but no cracks. Several back cracks were leveled and repaired and several braces were reglued. Lots of pickwear, nicks and dings, and a little buckle rash - all expected in a guitar that was used to make music for over 50 years. The guitar was completly gone through and set up by luthier Richie Dotson of Acoustic Box LLC in Chesterfield, VA, and is 100 percent ready to go. Here is a short video clip here of this guitar played by Richie. Comes with a newer hardshell case.
