1982 Martin D28 Guitar
(Serial No. 436568) Excellent condition showing very light playing wear. The sound is the reason D-28s are the gold standard in bluegrass and this guitar is an outstanding example. Its got a nice big open woody sound with strong volume and that big Martin boom on the bottom end. It has a beautiful Sitka spruce top with nice striped straight grain chocolate colored Indian rosewood back and sides. Has the herringbone top trim and the advanced scalloped bracing like the prewar guitars. Its been well maintained and is in perfect condition. Strap button added at the heel. The sound has been picked into this one. Nice low action and excellent tone and volume. Just set up by my luthier so the guitar plays like butter and has the signature Martin boom - excellent bluegrass sound! Here is a short video clip of this instrument played by luthier Richie Dotson. Comes with the original molded Martin hardshell case.
