1995 Flatiron A5 Artist Mandolin
(Serial No. 95072333) Near mint condition, ice tea sunburst lacquer finish. This was the top of the line for Flatiron A style mandolins. This one was built in Bozeman, MT, by the same luthiers that built the Gibson mandolins, and the label is signed by Bruce Weber. Has highly flamed maple back and sides, a solid Sitka spruce top, flat ebony fretboard with larger frets, ebony bridge, 1 1/8 inch nut, pearl Fern headstock inlay and logo, and gold hardware. The Artist series Flatirons like this have X-braced tops, which many pickers believe gives a more percussive chop. Excellent sounding instrument with a deep woof on the bottom and clear trebles on the top. This instrument has just been set up by my luthier and is ready to go. No repairs, refinish, or any funny business noted. Fitted with an internal pickup and an endpin jack. It needs nothing but your fingers on the strings! Comes with the original black TKL shaped hardshell case.
