1995 Gibson F5L Mandolin
(Serial No. 5997129) Excellent plus condition, traditional dark brown tabacco sunburst finish. This is the classic Gibson scroll mandolin - long neck, f-holes, elevated fretboard, flamed maple back and sides, solid spruce top, bound ebony fingerboard, and the classic Fern peghead inlay. It has the original gold plated Schaller tuners with pearl buttons. In 1995 this model was the top of the line for Gibson. You might find a mark or two, as the mandolin has been used in a bluegrass band, but there are no cracks, breaks or bad dings. This was made in the Bozeman, Montana plant, and was signed by luthier Bruce Weber on December 11, 1995. The mandolin was perfectly refretted and set up by my luthier Richie Dotson. Action is great - easy and low. This mandolin sounds great with a strong chop and bark. Here is a short video clip of this instrument played by Richie. Comes in the original rectangular hardshell case.
