Recent Custom F5 Mandolin
(Serial No. none) Excellent condition, sunburst finish. This mandolin is a bit of a mystery. It appears someone took an already built mandolin and reworked it into a bluegrass powerhouse. You can see a faint outline of the previous name on the peghead under the paint, but I cannot make it out. It has a solid spruce top which is tone bar braced, with flamed maple back and sides. The mandolin is triple bound top and back, and side bound as well. Hardware is gold plated including Grover openback tuners and an one piece tailpiece. Has a truss rod. Has a flat ebony fretboard with a 1-1/8 inch nut and the tree of life inlay. The fretboard has been scooped to eliminate pick click. Here is a short video clip of this instrument played by Nathan Beaumont. Action is low and easy - it is set up well and plays nicely. Comes with a nice hardshell case.
