2023 Rattlesnake Mandocello

(Serial No. 74) Mint unplayed condition. Rattlesnake instruments are built by Olin Davis, and I have owned several of his mandolins. ALL that I have played I consider outstanding instruments. When offered a chance to buy this mandocello, I agreed immediately. This mandocello was built in 2023 as a custom commission. It is traditionally tuned CGDA, but can also be tuned GDAE as an octave mandolin - thats how I have it tuned. Hand rubbed gloss sunburst varnish finish on the Adirondack red spruce top, 16 inch archtop body, 25 1/4 inch scale length with a 1-11/16 inch nut. Both the body and the neck are 5 ply bound. The peghead has Rattlesnake in pearl. Back and sides are highly flamed maple and the fretboard and bridge are ebony. Both the Grover tuners and the trapeze tailpiece are gold plated.
